The official data from Missouri Department of Health has seen an increase in the number of sexually transmitted disease in the state of Missouri following the nations pattern. The health officials are keeping an eye on the rise in Syphilis, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia followed by the rise in HIV in St Louis, Missouri.

Data from the CDC indicates that its a high time people should get back to those routine visits and routine testing. Data from the state of Missouri shows over the last four years Saint Charles County, St Louis County and St Louis city have all seen an increase in cases of chlamydia gonorrhea and syphilis.

We were realizing that the increase was happening in 2019 and in the pandemic hit and during this pandemic the testing rate for the STDs has nearly came to the halt and so we saw a dip in the testing rate of STDs and thereby the STD rate aswell (during pandemic). This made it worse, especially for the people who didn’t had symptoms and kept spreading STIs.

Healthcare experts of the county like Dr. Shockham along with John Martin believe that now, its the time for people to get back to routine testing and taking preventative measures like using protection. They also stated the dire need to follow necessary precautions such as wearing a condom while having sex, have an open conversation with the partner on implications if either of them have any special preferences.

Also, to mention, many STI’s can be treated with medications, but if the spread continuous there could be challenges, especially when the healthcare funding has been reduced by US government.

To raise awareness and slow the spread we at STDtestingnearme.Org have actually been out doing STD test with a $10 discount coupon and it is applicable even on the smallest or single test. So watch out for that and people who want to make an appointment can do that at their clinic and get STI testing along with low-cost care.
